Its a Boy! (For real this time)

Sorry it has been awhile since I posted. 11 days ago we were blessed with a new baby boy, Liam Gregory. After 14 hours of labor, he arrived at 11:47 AM on Wednesday April 6th, 2011. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 9 oz and was 21 inches long. Everything about him is just perfect. He has strawberry blonde hair just like his daddy used to have and big eyes that he gets from his mom.

All in all I think I was pretty lucky for my first delivery. On Tuesday evening around 7PM I started to notice some contractions. This time they came with severe cramping so I had a feeling it was the real thing. Within a matter of 30 minutes, I had my show and my water broke and we knew this was it. The funniest part about everything was that we had no power at the time. The night before a bad storm had knocked out the power in our neighborhood and so there we were running around frantic in the pitch black trying to get ourselves together to head to the hospital. The midwife wanted us to come in right away but without any light, it took us a full 2 hours to get ourselves together and to the hospital. Needless to say, at that point my contractions were very strong and happening every couple of minutes. We finally got the epidural about 1 hour later (after paper work that seemed to last 5 hours in my head) and all I can say is THANK GOD for epidurals! I went from the worst pain of my life to instant relief in a matter of seconds. It was literally a gift from heaven. The rest of the night was spent trying to sleep and just waiting on me to fully dilate. By 10AM I was at 10cm and we were ready to push. Of course, Liam had other plans....he was face up and wanted to make pushing as much as a challenge for mommy as possible. 1 1/2 hours later I was able to push the little nugget out!

Josh and I could not be more in love with our little man. Its definitely a challenging adventure and it isn't always peaches and cream, but his little face keeps us smiling and going day to day :)

  1. 1. I love Liam. I cannot wait to see him again and hear his little newborn pterodactyl noises.
    2. I am so in awe of how amazingly well you and Josh are doing. I feel like ya'll are so much more with-it and put together than we were at that point.
    3. Feel free to call me at ANY time that things go from "peaches and cream" to "screaming panic". I am still up between 2 and 3 every single night getting Waylon back to sleep! :)
